7 Most-Loved Restaurants in Venice

From superb shopping on Abbot Kinney to the picturesque canals and the laid-back beaches, it’s no secret Venice has an abundance of things to offer. Another one of its draws: restaurants. There are delicious culinary hotspots on almost every corner. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the most-loved and high-rated restaurants you definitely need to check out if you haven’t already.

Gjelina

With 4.4 stars on Google and over 4,000 reviews on Yelp, Gjelina is hands down a foodie favorite in Venice. The vibe is as casual and cool as you’d expect from the beachside community. We recommend snagging a table out on the patio if you can. Choose from a variety of pizzas adorned with creative toppings such as mushrooms, spicy chorizo, and lamb sausage. Or, get your daily dose of veggies in with tasty options like charred Brussels sprouts, wood roasted cauliflower, and crispy sunchokes.

C&O Trattoria

Scrolling through all of C&O Trattoria’s food photos on Yelp make it easy to see why over 3,000 people give it 4 stars. If pasta is your guilty pleasure, add this Italian spot to the top of your must-visit list. Situated on Washington Boulevard just steps away from the Venice Pier, the restaurant is known for their large portions and killer garlic rolls. Other noteworthy things on the menu include baked stuffed mushrooms, shrimp ravioli, and lobster mac and cheese.

Cafe Gratitude

This beloved vegan hotspot, with 4.6 stars on Google, is a go-to for Venice locals and tourists alike. Nestled on the buzzing Rose Avenue, this healthy hotspot whips up a variety of salads, bowls, and sandwiches filled with plant-based ingredients even meat lovers enjoy. We also love that every dish is named after a positive affirmation— like the “I am vivid” açai superfood bowl, which only ups the good vibes of this place.

The Rose

Over 1,700 Google reviewers agree that The Rose is a Venice staple. Open since 1979, the charming spot is not just a restaurant. It’s also a cafe, a bakery, a bar, and a deli so there’s always a little something for everyone. The menu features local California cuisine with an international flair inspired by chef Jason Neroni’s travels. For breakfast, there’s options like huevos rancheros and avocado toast, while dinner stars creative dishes like marinated baja shrimp ceviche, grilled Spanish octopus, and pig head pancetta.

Wabi Venice

Although it’s temporary closed due to a fire last year, Wabi Venice is one that is worth mentioning. The hip sushi spot has been around since 1992 and is a favorite of our CEO, Tami. We can’t wait to devour a lobster roll once Wabi reopens its doors this summer.

Gjusta

Gjusta is one of those places where you can order pretty much anything on the menu and be utterly delighted. The deli/bakery takes inspiration from European markets and Parisian bakeries and infuses its own LA twist by sourcing ingredients from farmers, ranchers, and fishermen in Southern California. Although getting a table might be a feat, we promise it’s worth the wait.

Scopa Italian Roots

Scopa Italian Roots gets 4 stars on Yelp for its scrumptious Italian fare. The decor has an industrial vibe that still feels chic and cozy. The menu is filled with mouthwatering pastas (rigatoni, linguine, lasagna), antipasti dishes (eggplant parm, scallops, fried cauliflower), and delicious mains (whole branzino, pork chop, roasted chicken). And according to one reviewer, it’s also a good place to run into iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford.
