Spring is traditionally the busiest season for the real estate market. I expect this year to follow that same trend even in this already hot seller’s market. In fact, buyers are the most eager I’ve seen in a long time — keeping a constant eye on their target neighborhoods and refreshing their inboxes, looking for new listings to come online.
As we welcome in the new season, our company is also debuting a new name with significant history. Inspired by the imagery and color of the Southern California sunsets, we are letting go of Halton Pardee + Partners after 5 years and welcoming back Pardee Properties — the name I started with 16 years ago. Spring is a time of rebirth and we are so excited to be sharing this news.
The name may be changing but our commitment to great service is unwavering. We are always here to help with all of your real estate needs.
What I’m noticing in the market
- Demand is through the roof. The real estate market usually ebbs and flows with the seasons, with Spring as our busiest time of year. But last spring, after a brief wait-and-see moment, the market picked up…and kept going up, extending the busy time through the full year. And there’s no reason to believe it’ll slow down anytime soon!
Condos are having a moment. I often advise people to do what they can to get in the market. Our city is a desirable place to live and that won’t change drastically anytime soon. I’ve seen a recent trend of first-time buyers investing in more affordable condos or smaller homes as a way to fund their forever home down the line.
Beach life is the good life.
After spending so much time indoors the past year, many buyers are flocking to beachside communities on the Westside. The cool breezes, calming waves and gorgeous scenery are just the antidote to being cooped up away from the coast. The beach has always been a great outdoor destination and living nearby has seen a jump in popularity recently.
