This last Saturday, October 14th, our Halton Pardee work family attended Harvest Home’s Annual Gala for an incredibly impactful evening. As a sponsor and long-time supporter of Harvest Home, we were inspired to see the amazing work Harvest Home continues to do and were honored to celebrate the strong women the organization serves.
Harvest Home is a local non-profit organization in Venice. It is a residential program that serves homeless pregnant women and their babies. All women enter the program while they are pregnant and stay an average of 3 to 6 months after the birth of their child. Harvest Home offers a nurturing, structured program aimed at helping each woman make changes in her life in order to achieve independence and stability.
Through case management, classes, and other structures, Harvest Home encourages growth in the following areas: Care for Her Child, Financial Independence, Emotional and Mental Health, Physical Health, and Spiritual Growth.
In Her Words, the theme of this year’s Gala, gave past participants of the Harvest Home program a platform to share their personal success stories and experiences since being a part of the organization. We were moved by these women who, after given the opportunities and support from Harvest Home, were able to turn their lives around for themselves and their babies.
Sarah Wilson, the Executive Director of Harvest Home, made a passionate motivational speech encouraging guests to get involved and help raise funds for their cause. They set a fundraising goal for the evening of $100,000 to write the next chapter in Harvest Home’s story. We were very proud to find out that they have, so far, raised $90,000 of that goal! The Halton Pardee team not only sponsored, but also donated as individuals that night. We hope you will consider donating as well!
Giving back to local organizations that are doing good for our community and the people therein is incredibly important to us. We love Harvest Home and hope you will join us in contributing to the incredible gift they give to the women who walk through their doors looking for a second chance.
