The mission of Venice Community Housing is to reduce homelessness, maximize affordable housing, empowering low-income constituents, provide social services, and advocate for public policy that protects and strengthens the economic, racial and cultural diversity of Venice and other neighborhoods on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Venice has historically been one of the most economically, racially, and culturally diverse neighborhoods in Los Angeles. More recently, Venice’s rich social fabric has been threatened by economic forces eliminating affordable housing for Venice’s low-income and working-class residents and eroding tolerance and appreciation for the diversity that has made Venice a global landmark. Since its founding in 1988, Venice Community Housing has focused on creating neighborhood-based solutions by providing affordable housing, supportive resident services, and pathways to higher education and employment.
